asos future stylist 2012: sports luxe.

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
Why hello, everyone! Long time no speak. I've been pretty darn busy recently hence my lack of posting, because not only have I started my lovely new job at Cath Kidston, I've also been styling a couple of shoots too! I'm sure some of your know already, but I'm currently working as a stylist on an upcoming knitwear book for Quadrille Publishing, which should be released in the Autumn. It's been so fun to have such creative control and work with an amazing team, I can't wait to share some photographs with you! The art director approached me for this job after seeing my feature in Asos magazine last year, so isn't it just funny how things turn out, because now here I am taking part in Asos Future Stylist!
I think you've seen it all now - first bright pink jeans, then clashing patterns and now trainers! What a shock to my usual classic style and neutral colours, cor blimey. My look is quite a simple approach to the sports luxe trend, but I like to think I have mixed the right amount of chic and slouchy to create an interesting outfit. I felt a little self concious wearing such a body con mesh pencil skirt (I have a really arched back which makes my stomach stick out a little), but I think it looks great teamed with a cropped tee, lilac high tops and a matching clutch bagI'm aware that I'm not the 'prettiest' nor the most popular out of the final bloggers, but as I've said before, I really feel that I have fully embraced all of the trends so far and have been incredibly passionate about taking part in this competition. I would just love to go through to the next round and with your support I so hope I can!
Once again, Asos have kindly offered the chance for one of you to win a £25 voucher, so all you have to do to be entered is to vote for me here and comment on this post leaving your email address! I'll announce the winner next week. Love, Jazzabelle.

  80. I really do think you need to stop indulging in your 'self concious' twitter statements as a political form of blogging growth and admiration now, as it's getting old and more fraudulent by the second. If you're not happy about a photo, DONT UPLOAD IT, if you're feeling unattractive, DONT GO ON A PHOTOSHOOT, if you're through to the next round of Asos, FEEL GOOD ABOUT YOURSELF RATHER THAN 'NERVOUS', and if you have so many insecurities, DONT BE IN FASHION!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. the first thing i have to say in response to you is that if you don't like what i have to say, please don't follow my twitter or blog. i do not use my 'self concious' statements as a form of blogging growth or admiration, i merely use my blog and twitter as a place to share how i feel at that moment in time. if i feel unattractive i will say so, just like if i am feeling nervous or anxious. i don't usually upload pictures that i don't like, hence my lack of blogging, but as i am competing in asos future stylist i have to upload them no matter what. i'm hardly going to drop out the competition just because i didn't like a series of photographs! and i do feel good about myself about getting through to the next round, i really do. but of course i feel nervous as i really want to go through to the final as this is such an amazing opportunity. regarding going on the photoshoot today, when i got the email asking if i'd like to attend, i was perfectly happy and confident to do so. unfortunately a couple of days ago my really bad acne has come back so i've been feeling very self concious about that, as anyone would be. it would have been very rude for me to back out last minute so i was happy to continue with the shoot as it was so very kind of the company to ask me.

also, i think it's completely wrong for you to say that because of all of my insecurities i shouldn't be in fashion. just because i'm not confident or completely comfortable and happy with myself it doesn't mean i don't have the right to be in the fashion industry.

i have so much more i could say but unfortunately i'm useless at expressing my feelings clearly in writing, so this will have to do for now.

      have a lovely day, anonymous.

      Delete
    2. I don't think you understood what anonymous was saying there. You've just got to stop being so openly negative as people love your style but you constantly saying how bad or fat you are and then being a style blogger at the same time is the biggest contradiction ever. Of course we feel bad sometimes, but you constantly go on about it in a weird narcissistic but pessimistic way that makes people feel bad and in turn isn't great for your readers as a lot look up to your style, so to hear you saying you feel fat or even that you have bad acne isn't bad but it is depressing when you go on & on about it. People follow you cause your nice & have great style - its just a shame that you make all your flaws so prominent.

      Delete
    3. thank-you for your comment, i appreciate this one more than the last as you have actually explained your reasons without seeming rude, though i have to disagree with some of your points. whilst i agree that i'm openly negative, it's not a contradiction for me to be that way but also be a style blogger at the same time. is style blogging only reserved for confident people who never mention the negativities in their life? no, i think not. blogging is for anyone, and as i have said before, this is my blog and twitter i can really say what i want. when i say i'm fat i'm clearly being sarcastic, i'm far from it. i just think i'm unhealthy. also, the amount of emails i receive from girls saying they have bad skin or lack the confidence and self esteem to do certain things clearly shows that by me being openly honest about my issues has helped others. if people feel bad by reading my blog then they should stop reading, i don't force anyone to look at my blog nor follow me on twitter.

i'm so very glad you think i'm nice have have great style. i hope what i have said has made sense.

      Delete
  81. Ignore anonymous, they obviously don't have anything better to do than be mean. I really hope you don't let that comment get to you, you don't need to worry because obviously people love reading your blog hence why it's so popular!
