five happy things #1

Happy Sunday! This week has been a lovely one - thinking over my goals and trying out new morning and evening routines has definitely made me feel more positive and content compared to last week. So, here's a little update with five happy things going on in my life right now...

1. You may have seen my excitement on Instagram and Twitter yesterday, as my little face made the front page of the The Daily Telegraph property section! The feature was all about William Morris - I talk all about my love for his designs and reveal the scale of my collection! It feels pretty special to know that I have become recognised in such a way for being a William Morris fan, I'm super chuffed. Thank you for your lovely comments and messages! Update: The article is now online!

2. On Friday night Shana-Kaye and I went to a The Little Mermaid screening and 'Hakuna Matata' club night at The Grand in Battersea. Think Disney themed cocktails, The Little Mermaid sing-a-long, a mermaid parade, photobooth, unlimited popcorn and confetti - and that was just during the screening! The after party was hilarious - they played Disney songs alongside party anthems, so I may have sang along to the Gaston song, danced on a podium to Destiny's Child, even making it home before I turned into a pumpkin! I didn't know what to expect as I've never been to The Grand before, or one to go 'out out' that much, but for just £5 (!!!) a ticket, I will definitely be back!

3. Last weekend I met up with Steven to shoot a few outfit and lifestyle looks. We decided to shoot in my part of town, so visited a few local spots - The Alma, Cafe Fleur and Wandsworth Park. We also popped by local pub, The Cats Back, which has been on my list of places to visit since I spied William Morris Strawberry Thief wallpaper through the window over a year ago! It was such a lovely, calm shoot, with the bonus that my mum came along for the day too - I can't wait to see the final snaps.

4. It's my 25th birthday next Saturday! I never have big birthday celebrations (apart from the two years my mum threw my surprise parties!), so I've made a couple of small but sweet plans. In the morning my dad is taking Rob, mum and I for breakfast and a game of mini golf, then I'll pop to Northcote Road for a spot of shopping. I'm not one to break tradition, so my grandma, mum, Shana-Kaye, Rob and I will go to my local restaurant, Fish in a Tie for my birthday dinner - this will be the 11th year in a row I've celebrated there! Do you have any birthday traditions?

5. A couple of weekends ago it was my primary school's (and my mum's workplace) summer fair. My mum, grandma and I all had our own stalls and made a little profit, which was lovely, but the highlight was that my mum won first prize in the raffle - a one night stay for two in a luxury hotel! My mum has chosen to take little old me, so later in the month we'll be heading to the Ham Yard Hotel for a night! It's been years since my mum has stayed in a fancy hotel, so I'm super excited for her, and I have already been eyeing up the afternoon tea menu myself...

I hope you have had a super week!
What's been making you happy?

  2. Congratulations on your feature! I absolutely love William Morris, and a colouring book with his pattern helped me through a bit of a rough time last year, such a soothing pattern to work with. Just found your blog, and I really like it, will follow on Bloglovin! Sofie xxx
