beautifully gloomy, the victoria and albert museum.

''Living is like tearing through a museum. Not until later do you really start absorbing what you saw, thinking about it, looking it up in a book, and remembering - because you can't take it in all at once.'' - Audrey Hepburn.PhotobucketPhotobucketI'm sure you all know how much I adore the Victoria and Albert Museum by now, and as I go so often I take so many photographs that always just end up sitting in various folders on my laptop. I thought I'd share with you some of my favourites which were taken on the same day as that on my 'the victoria and albert museum & the near perfect fit' post. I find many parts of the museum so beautifully gloomy, especially in the British Galleries, William Morris cafe and the long corridors, the V&A has really inspired the decor of my bedroom.PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketI'm really tired right now, I have a lot I could talk about but all I want to do now is tuck myself up in bed and listen to my favourite radio station, LBC 97.3. I was at the V&A for nine hours yesterday working with CreateVoice and the Blue Train project to help organize and host a late friday event which we've been planning for months. The event went so much better than I expected and many of my ideas were used which was very flattering indeed. I also got to explore some staff only areas of the museum, which really makes me wish I could work at such a beautiful place even more. I always seem to forget to mention that when people asked me what I'd like to do when I'm older, but working at the V&A would literally be a dream come true for me. Love, Jazzabelle. P.S. That's a reflection of my lovely mother in the second to last picture! She's the best, she takes practically every outfit photograph of me, y'know! Thank-you, mom.

  1. The V&A looks gorgeous! I'd love to visit there one day. And working in a museum would be such a fun job. I hope you get a chance to do that one day! :)

  2. Congrats on your ideas having been implemented, that's so cool! :) The picture of your mom is neat! She seems a to be a beautiful and sophisticated lady!

By the way, I'm actually listenng to the radio station, how cool is that? Haha. I'd never tried listening to a foreign radio station on the internet. When the host gave the phone number, I felt the urge to call, hehe, but I'd have gotten too nervous to speak in English ... on a English radio programme! :O

Sweet dreams! Hope you have a great weekend!

  5. You always find the nicest quotes Jazmine! The V & A just looks absolutely beautiful. I really want to stop by sometime! These photographs certainly do it justice. I always find museums are one of the best places to get inspiration or to just reflect on things. My Grandma worked in a museum throughout my childhood so I always wanted to work in one too (: It just feels like that's where all the fun is! I hope your dreams come true sweet and wow, your mamabear must be pretty lovely if she takes all your photos! Have a good weekend sweet.

  32. I’m so glad you liked the parcel, to be honest I was getting quite worried it had got lost in the post. I posted it Friday morning but all I can presume is that there was a backlog of post in my area, so hence why nothing really got sent out on time. I’m sure your card will be on its way and I’ll let you know when it arrives, I only just got Ellie’s today and she posted it on the 1st!

The compact mirror I saw and thought of you. I wasn’t sure if you already had one or not, but I figured it was still pretty unique, I don’t know how old it is. But I’m sure it has a wonderful second-hand story behind it, like most nostalgic treasures. I think women used to store their blush/powders in compacts, but nowadays sadly like most things, packaging and aesthetics have gone all mass-produced and modern.

I remember when you were working on your art piece earlier on in the year, you mentioned how much you love Beauty and the Beast and the enchanted rose. Again it just reminded me of you.

Sorry for rambling on, but I am so happy you liked the parcel. I just wanted to say a proper thank-you for being here for me, and of course sending me that beautiful Peter Rabbit book, which I happen to treasure! xxx
